This has been great. I like that it came with the remote and car adapter included. It has great battery life, it lives up tot he 5 hour claim. There are some functions on the remote that aren't on the main unit, but that's normal and it wasn't a big deal. I am very pleased with it. I've used it more than a dozen times since I got it in less than a month, and it's not had one glitch. It even plays worn DVDs that won't play in my nicer TV room unit.

I have done a lot of research to find our first DVR. And the Moxi seemed the best choice. However there are reviews on the far opposite ends witch made me apprehensive to commit to this product. Still it appeared to be a great digital dvd for us that would allow us to watch tv more efficiently. The 30 day money back guaraty from Moxi made me pull the trigger. We already had a smart card from our cable provider (Comcast) that I pulled out off our tv, inserted in the Moxi. Connected the cables. and 30 minutes later we where up and running.
It took a few day's to figure out how everything works. But we are loving it!

WOW, I love this tv! I am a movie fan and generally broadcast tv doesn't hold my interest too long, but this set, coupled with cable hd channels certainly has changed that! I highly recommend this tv to anyone who is budget minded and still looking for a set size for a main room. The picture clarity and crispness is amazing and close or fairly far away the 37" screen shows it all and my only complaint is that some on air people certainly are not being treated kindly now that I see them in true HD lol. My only issue with the set is that I didn't get it sooner! The shipping and delivery was fast and it arrived in great condition. No dead or warm pixels and no complaints at all. The remote is very simply and aside from it using a c-6 style battery seems fine. I use the cable supplied remote for most everything, so not really an issue for me at all. I compared this same set with both 32" and 40 and 42" sets in a dept store here prior to buying and for the size, even the 42" isn't that much larger, certainly not enough to spend the extra, at least not for me. And the 32" just was too small by comparison. I hope this review may help someone else as I am very pleased and truly feel it was a great investment.

The Oppo was new to me but it delivers real quality. The up conversion quality when playing standard dvd's is amazing. That in itself is worth the cost of this deck to me. I have this hooked up to my Samsung 32" HDTV. In works in concert w/ the Samsung built in tuner. Using this equipment I was able to pick up additional cable channels, even some broadcating in various resolutions from 720p to 1080i. I used a RadioShack amplifier similar to this one that cost $52 and change, but it did not work as good as this one. The good news too is that you can get the PCT amplifier for less than half the cost.

I bought this as the gold-box deal of the day primarily to use as a computer moniter and its ok... i think its a much better tv. The picture is beautiful!!! The problem with the use as a moniter is its lack of settings that are typically used with computers. I had to tweak it alot to get it to work as a computer moniter (I have it hooked up to an NVidia Geforce GTS 250). Its worth the money, but I think there are better moniters out there for the same money... note i said moniters. All tv's I've seen have the same problems as this one with the lack of settings in them. So, Its worth the money... beautiful picture and good sound. It is better than most tv's for input selection.. its great on that. I'll probably buy a better moniter later and put this in my bedroom... but that will be some time... as it's working well for now. The only other concern I have is its 8ms respond time... many games and video systems reccommend 5ms or less for peak performance... and i think that's the cause of some "flickering" on it.. i lose signal from the computer for a few seconds sometimes... which does not happen on the 26'' sanyo tv i was using for a moniter.. or any real computer moniter i've tried. All in all its a great tv, decent moniter, and well worth the money :)

Reviews Logitech Squeezebox Radio

The sound quality is great, better than most boomboxes with two speakers. The only complaints I have is that there should be a large snooze button on the top of the unit like that of an alarm clock. Unfortunately I cannot review the unit with a battery, but the device can only get better with that. I also own the squeezebox duet and have a secondary remote set up via ipod touch/IPeng (the purchased version not the free plugin). Everything is pulling from a QNAP TS-119 NAS running squeezeserver 7.4. Between all the components, the system has been up for 2 weeks with very few glitches and synchronizes beautifully. The only thing is that every once in a while either the remote or the radio will lose it's wireless connection, but a quick reboot and everything's back online. Originally I was planning on setting up audio throughout the whole house using a receiver/amplifier, speaker splitter, wall controls, in ceiling speakers, RF remote (for room on/off and volume), and the squeezebox duet but this has saved me the headaches and grand or more in cash to do so. A+ to logitech for this unit all in a moderatly priced package even with the eventual cost of the accessory pack added on.

the asus O play was brilliantly packaged and setup was a breeze with the HDMI cable straight into my Sony 7.1 channel Receiver. I tried already 6 different super hight quality blu ray rips in mkv format each file about 10 Gigs each and the asus plays it "PERFECTLY" no stutter, no hesitation, no nothing. Maneuvering through the interface is a breeze and quite fast which surprised me very much. If you love MKVS this is the player to get, but also keep in mind I tried about 10 other DIVX files and other files and it played it flawlessly not 1 single hitch EVER "yet" (jinx!)

Only minor minor problem that maybe addressed in a later firmware (asus came with the latest firmware already installed 1.07) is that if you connect the asus to a sound receiver and attempt to play a file like the blu ray rips with 6.1 channel sound, the sound will not be outputted until you change the sound setting MANUALLY in the setting menu to HDMI RAW. I heard they are working on a firmware to automatically detect the sound and change it on the fly. Minor problem. Overall this is "IT" this is the player right out of the box that plays everything I throw at it flawlessly so far, no reencoding, or remuxing nothing. GET IT. Matter a fact, I brought 2 more. :)

This was very helpful on vacation. The case attached to the back of the seat, so my son would not drop the player or have it on his lap. I was afraid he would fall asleep and it would fall or the battery would get too hot to sit on his lap. Plus, this way he was looking at eye-level instead of straining his neck and looking down. It was also cheaper than other models like this, and it was simple to attach. Not a lot of room for extras, but we just put those in his travel bag.

Very good 26" LCD television and is just the right size in our guest bedroom..... I believe that Panasonic beats them all hands down.... we replaced our very old CRT TV with this new light weight LCD and it does not take up as much space as the old unit did........ in my own opinion, this Panasonic LCD has the best picture and sound over the other brands, and I did a lot of comparing before buying ..... I really like the timer feature too...... the set-up menu and features are very user friendly. The remote is not lit... has no internal light... but I don't think any of them have an internal light..... not a complaint, but the remote has more stuff on it than I will ever use.... I have owned my 42" Plasma Panasonic for over 2 years now and I am very satisfied with it too.... The plasma has a little bit of a better picture, colors are more vivid, than a LCD has but a plasma also cost more money too.... and a plasma weighs more and uses more power than a LCD TV... This TV only comes in glossy black, the frame and base, which looks very nice but shows every speck of dust. I even called Panasonic and complained about that.....for not offering an alternate color like silver or gray.... I think that most all of the other brands, under 42", also come in only glossy black this year..... oh well.... my wife doesn't mind the glossy black..... Last month I purchased the TC-L32X1 for our bedroom and we liked it so well that we bought the TC-L26X1 LCD in the 26' size for the guest bedroom...... this TV also comes with a dock for plugging in your ipod but I'm not into any of that stuff so I can't say how well it works.... sorry... I have also posted a picture of our new TV here and that's my soda pop can next to the TV so you can get an idea of the size, etc.... and the President just happen to be on the news when I snapped the picture

I am happy.

Pros:
1. The menu system looks nice and is very easy. No confusion even for the most tech ignorant user.
2. Energy saver feature is nice, maybe a little gimicky but nice.
3. Very light weight and easy to install.
4. 4 HDMI inputs are great.
5. Physical appearance in-home is very nice.
6. HD picture is amazing unless very fast motion is involved (see below).

Cons
1. Standard definition picture can be poor. This was almost always remedied by putting the picture on "Game" mode.
2. Fast motion does result in blurring. It's not all the time and usually only lasts a split-second but it can be VERY noticeable. This is not my first HD TV but is my fist LCD. I expected much less blurring for 120HZ but to be honest, don't know how much blurring could be considered normal for an LCD. So far I have only experienced the blurring with TV and movies both through the cable box and my AppleTV. My Xbox 360 seemed fine but I have only tried 2 games, neither of which were sports games. I have not yet tested PS3 or BluRay.

Reviews Toshiba 15LV505 HDTV

This is a very good 15" widescreen LCD. Bought it for the kitchen to save some space and it looks great. 15" is small, and at only 7 lbs, this is a great, compact TV. No complaints other than it can't be mounted on a wall mount, which is pretty ridiculous.

I ordered this taking the chance of this and am dumbfounded that they couldn't put 2 simple holes in the back for a wall mount. I called Toshiba asking them and their reply was "yes, this is our only LCD TV that we didn't install wall mounts on because it is so small on top of it having the DVD player." My reply was to ask how difficult it is to create external connectors for a wall mount (obviously we don't need the engineering of the TV to make room for screws going into the wiring) and anything can hold a little plastic hook for a screw to go into. They just said "no." Pretty lame.

So other than the fact it can't be wall-mounted (and amazon recommends you couple your purchase of this TV WITH a wall mount!), I have no complaints. It's thin, it's light, speakers are good for it's size, and it takes up little space, which could even be less if it connected to a mount.

- Buzzing. My number one fear was the buzzing that people have noted as an issue. There is absolutely none, even when I turn the volume down to extremely low levels, and I'm hypersensitive to this kind of thing.

- Glare. I was also a little worried about the glare factor that some reviewers have mentioned. I haven't had any issues at all. The TV is in a room with medium-sized windows facing northeast, so there isn't a problem with direct sunlight but it's still fairly bright during the day. I haven't needed to adjust any picture settings to compensate and there hasn't been any annoying reflection. And I should add that the picture is amazingly crisp and vivid.

- Sound. Some people have reported the sound as being less than stellar. My previous main TV, a Sony Wega, has very rich sound so based on the reviews I expected to hear something pretty tinny with this model. It actually turned out to be much better than I had anticipated. I don't feel the need to use my external audio system except when watching a movie, and that's just to get the full surround-sound experience.

- Touch of color. The red is slightly more vivid than I expected, but not overly so. I tend to be a neutral color person when it comes to electronics, but the color on this is still subtle and not overdone. And the overall styling of this model is gorgeous. It's beautiful to look at and people drool when they come over to visit.

- Connections. I wasn't quite sure what exactly would be available despite looking at the photos and documentation online. I didn't have HDMI on my old TV and I used S-video for a couple of things so I thought I might run out of open ports. I bought some HDMI cables for the cable box and DVD player, and I had no problem also hooking up my DVD recorder and stereo using conventional component cables. I did retire my old VCR but I could easily have kept it as there are several remaining open connections, even for composite cables. And I can still add a Blu-Ray DVD player if I decide to get one.

- Burn in. I've experienced none. I was kind of worried when I ran the auto-channel programming feature because it has a very static screen and took quite awhile to process. It added every scrambled channel on the cable network and then spent a long time removing them. Happily, there were no unwanted effects.

- Network connectivity. I got the wireless USB device and it works great. I can access music and photos on my computer as well as use the Yahoo widgets that are programmed into the TV. I don't use it a lot but it's a fun feature.

Picture quality:

Matte screen:
My room is very bright. Samsung's ultra-clear panel on the 650 model is as shiny & reflective as glass - like looking in a mirror. The 630's matte screen is perfect for my needs, yet I'm still getting a very clear picture with great contrast ratio. I only knew this model existed by reading customer comments at Amazon, as Samsung doesn't appear to promote this model.

Settings:
TV has lots of options for picture & sound settings. Easy to adjust, test, play around with.

Connection to Cable Box/DVR:
To be able to use my cable DVR remote with the TV, I had to call the cable company to get the volume control to work - just needed a special code.

Sound:
OK; better than expected.

Set aesthetics:
Attractive. Originally nervous about the red Touch of Color - but it is very subtle; looks more brown/burgundy. Does NOT look like the bright red stripe that is pictured in Amazon's product info.

I think the speakers are very satisfactory. They don't have a completely full bass sound, no, but they are plenty loud for my apartment. Despite a lack of deep bass the speakers give generally full sound, and do a good job mimicking surround output. A little tip - turning on the "true surround" feature lowers the volume by quite a bit. Sound a little quiet? Then turn off the surround setting and "settle" with excellent stereo sound... at volume 45 the TV is plenty loud (and it goes to 100). I compared the sound of various TVs at Best Buy and I honestly think this little unit has phenomenal sound for its size class... if you want better speakers built into a ~3" deep flat screen, well you are probably going to have to go for a fatter and larger TV. What do you want for such a slim unit?

The TV not having 1080P output isn't much of a con... most TVs this size do not offer that, and when they "do" it is usually just a downscaling of 1080P signal to the screen rather than truly displaying it. 720P and 1080i look pretty darn slick compared to a CRT analogue TV, let me tell you! Again, the PS3 looks awesome.

The picture quality is amazing! With 60,000:1 contrast ratio, the colors just POP and make everything look realistic. Standard definition picture quality is good(i.e. standard cable), but HD quality is amazing. My last set was a philips and the colors on people's faces didn't quite look realistic but this samsung, everything looks realistic. The picture settings out of the box are pretty good but with a little adjustment(you can find calibration settings online) the PQ is amazing. The only compliant I have with this TV is the sound which is more than acceptable though.

The picture is excellent (with a little tweaking); clear, sharp, bright.
my only regret...this model (unlike the 32") has no headphone out, so i can not use my powered speakers AND control volume/muting.
the internal speakers are, as usual, the weak link (again, made better with some serious tweaking).

Reviews Panasonic DMP-BD60 Blu-ray Player

* Speed: the BD60 is not quite as fast to load discs as the Samsung BD-P3600 or the LG BD300, though it is faster than last year's Samsung models.

* Limited online content: YouTube on a Blu-ray player is cool, but it doesn't compare to Netflix online streaming in terms of quality and selection of content (Netflix is available on LG and Samsung players). Amazon's On-Demand streaming service has been announced for VIERA Cast but is not yet available. The good news is that VIERA Cast can be enhanced with more content over time without requiring the purchase of a new player.

* Less than integrated operation: moving between Blu-ray and VIERA Cast online content is not as seamless as it could be. You have to completely stop playback and exit back to the Panasonic player's splash screen in order to get to the VIERA Cast "home screen" to access online content. And what's with that annoying BEEP when you go through the VIERA Cast menus?

* SD card requirement: Like its predecessors, the BD60 lacks on-board storage so you'll need to add an SD or SDHC card to enjoy BD-Live content. Panasonic at least could have thrown in a 1GB or 2GB SD card in the box.

Blu ray is an investment but now is a great time to build up a high quality home theatre system. Here we have a high end blu ray player with all the whistles and capablities at a great price. It is now possible to get blu ray movies at much more reasonable prices as well and more and more films come out on blu ray every week. I find that a true blu ray experience is better than seeing a film at the movies. The picture clarity is astounding and the audio with all the tru and lossless options on all discs now make the films more than come to life.

Reviews Blu-ray Sony BDP-S360 Player

Video Quality:
The bluray playback is Excellent, appears to be identical to the previous 350 model. The DVD upscaling to me is just "O.K.", again looks identical to the 350, so I dont see any visible improvement with the new Precision Drive that Sony is promoting. I have noticed that the dvd video quality is improved if the video output on the player is changed from "Auto" to "480" when playing standard dvd's. The player also plays movies copied to dvd-r disks flawlessly. The 360 has played every disk i've put in it from bluray, to dvd, to movies burned on dvd-r's.

Options/Extras:
This player does not support any NetFlix, Pandora, Amazon, or any other streaming video features. Also, the Player does not have an internal wifi for updates or bd live. If u want internal wifi then you have to wait for the SONY bdp-s560.

The cable came in a simple cardboard box with nothing but a twist tie aside from the cable (which is a good thing, I hate the plastic blister packs that cut your hands and unnecessary stuff in the box to go in the landfill).

The cable has a solid, quality feel to it. Nothing feels cheap or chintzy.

Connecting the cable between my TV and several compontents including my brand new Samsung Blu Ray player, the connection just worked every time.

For comparison purposes, I bought a $50 super delux, high end, will solve all the problems in your life (according to the sales guy) HDMI cable at Radio Shack. Connecting the AmazonBasics cable to the same Blu Ray player as the fancy cable I saw **NO DIFFERENCE**!

Looking into it I found out that HDMI is a standard that is run by an organization. In order for anyone to make an HDMI cable and put the HDMI logo on it (which the AmazonBasics cable does), the cable must be made to the HDMI organizations standards. So the group basically tells the companies how the cable must be made in order to be given the HDMI logo. The long and short of it is that cheap cable or expensive cable, it must work to the same standards in order to have the HDMI logo.

Reviews LG LHB977 Blu-ray Disc Home Theater

The LG LHB977 is a great product. The applications, specifically Netflix integration has been a huge boon--I never realized how much I'd use that feature. Same goes for Pandora. At first I was disappointed by it not supporting wireless rear speakers, but now that it's all set up I realize fishing speaker wires under the carpet is not much more difficult than finding power for the rear receiver! I'm very pleased with the system; the craftsmanship on the speakers is top notch too--they are heavy and do not look cheap.

The reasons for purchasing this TV:

* Sony has great models for over $2500. They have great picture but not great enough to compensate for the couple of thousand extra dollars paid. I saw 46XBR6 and 46V5100 next to each other in BB and did not see a significant difference except the price.
* Samsungs have great LCD TVs. But glossy screen would not work for me at all. I have a bright living room where my TV is located. So, if you will have your TV in a bright room, you probably would like to avoid glossy screens like Samsung has. It really reflects a lot almost like a mirror. This was a big deal for me.

Now, my experice with KDL46V5100 is as follows:
It has great picture quality. I did not expect it to be so good at even SD. It is very easy to use. We plugged the TV and started to use it right away. Even user's manual is just a few pages. Before buying the TV I paid extra attention to the wide angle performance. This TV has about the same view from front and from sides: no changes in color or image quality with angle that I recognized.

The screen is what made the difference for me between this Sony and the Samsung of the equivilant. The screen is not as glossy as the samsung, although the bezel is as shiny as the rest, you hardly notice it. The white glove delivery was great, i was notified of every step of the journey for my TV, the delivery guys unloaded it, ops checked it and explained some of the features. The only problem was a "feature" that came with the TV that darkens the screen during dark scenes on a movie or TV show, this problem has been fixed by a software update, found on the Sony support web site. its a very easy fix, just requiring an USB memory stick, or if you dont have one the Sony people will send you one.

First things first, THEY FIXED THE AUTO-CONTRAST! I have nothing but good things to say about this TV. Do not be fooled by the 1 star ratings. All those 1 star ratings complain about the auto contrast/brightness feature which could not be turned off, but SONY FIXED IT ALREADY in the newer units or a software update via sony.com will add the controls to turn the function off.

I love my new sony TV. It has a great picture. Sound is just average though and does not project into my living room. I wanted a Home Theater System anyway.

To conduct the test I had my wife label each of the cables with a number, the cables were mixed then piled together behind the television. With my wife assigned as the operator. I and two friends sat on the other side of the television. We watched pieces of Planet Earth on Blu-Ray, as well as Transformers on Blu-Ray and Standard Def. In addition, we watched the same song from American Idol in both HD and SD, and portions of an NBA playoff game.

All three of us agreed that there were no conclusive differences in the test. After a lot of switching between various inputs the conclusion was that while we occasionally perceived slight differences it was never clear and would be impossible to tell if the two pictures were not side by side.
Thus I must conclude that these 5 HDMI cables are, for all practical purposes, identical. Which means that they all had average performance and the main purchase determiners are price, aesthetic quality and build quality.

It's hard to judge the quality of the materials without taking the thing apart but there's nothing noticably poor in the manufacturing or material quality of the cable. It's pretty plain looking and less attractive than the higher-priced cables but who cares?

When you consider that it gives you the same result as a Monster or Belkin cables that cost 10 to 20+ as much, it's clear that you're getting a lot of value per dollar with this cable. And yes, it also implies the opposite with those higher-priced cables.

Specs on the cable listed do not specify which standard (1 or 2) this cable is built to. Here is the difference:

Recently, HDMI Licensing, LLC announced that cables would be tested as Standard or High-Speed cables.

Standard (or "category 1") cables have been tested to perform at speeds of 75Mhz, which is the equivalent of a 1080i signal.

High Speed (or "category 2") cables have been tested to perform at speeds of 340Mhz, which is the highest bandwidth currently available over an HDMI cable and can successfully handle 1080p signals including those at increased color depths and/or increased refresh rates. High-Speed cables are also able to accommodate higher resolution displays, such as WQXGA cinema monitors (resolution of 2560 x 1600).

Well, as the old adage goes, "You get what you pay for." In this case, I paid about $5 including shipping for this product in November 2008. It's now June 2009 and the cable has given up the ghost.

HDMI is a digital signal. That means it's all or nothing--not like analog where you may have degradation due to signal loss, crosstalk, radio frequency interference, etc. As long as you have a decent HDMI cable to transmit the digital bitstream from point A to point B, you're set. I just purchased the new Sony Bravia S-series 32 inch LCD TV. To go with it, I trashed my old Apex with the missing remote and got a deal on a Sony DVP-NS70H upconverting DVD player that can synthesize "extra" lines of resolution. The player can send 720p or 1080i signal to the TV. (Current DVDs are 480p; that standard will change eventually with Blu-Ray and HD-DVD.) I knew that the upconversion feature only works through a digital connection, so I'd need to get an HDMI cable.

If you purchase this cable over the other ones in the major retailers. Don't let them tell you "it's a better quality cable" or anything like that. This cable is built very well - you can just tell when you hold it in your hand that it was made well. You don't get the fancy plastic packaging that you have to tear into with a knife and cut your fingers on though (oh what a bummer!). Get this cable. It's great!

These cables are an excellent deal and meet all of the relevant specifications that will allow you to get maximum throughput from 1080p equipment.

These cables worked great for me...I'm getting 1080p@24hz no problem. My setup is a Samsung 52" LCD TV (LN52A650) and a Playstation 3. Save yourself a whole lot of money and don't get ripped off buying "Monster" or any other overpriced HDMI cable. Order processing, USPS shipping, and receipt in Texas was lightling fast(7 days). Order 2 while you're at it...someday you'll need another one!

I continued to do my research and realized that not all HDMI cables were created equal :( So I decided to try my luck again with the MEDIABRIDGE : "Premium 6ft 1.3b Category 2 Super High Speed HDMI Cable - 1080p - PS3 - Blu-Ray." THIS CABLE IS THE REAL THING : the true HDMI version 1.3b Category 2 certified (whatever that means but sounds like a really good thing) which can be used with blu-ray or PS3 and will give you great 48-bit color. I paid a little under $7 for everything i.e for the item and S&H. The first thing I noticed was that it has the "HDMI" embossed on the cable; might not mean much but I thought it was note worthy. The Samsung's dynamic contrast of 80,000-1 was visibly superior to the Sony's 50,000-1 and convinced me that Samsung's contrast rating was more than a marketing numbers game. The viewing angle of the Sony was horrific when moving away from center by seeing flesh tones morph into green. Samsung's viewing angle was far better by maintaining the proper color tones, but it did lose contrast and brightness. Of course, a slight turn of its swivel base helped to alleviate Samsung's viewing angle issue. The depth and breadth of Samsung's visual color tones are astounding and mesmerizing. A perfect example of that came from viewing scenes of the Caribbean Sea. The Sony could not match the Samsung's Wide Color Enhancer 3 processor with its three dimensional qualities and vibrant tones of turquoise, sea green, cobalt blue, coral pink and white sand clearly seen under the sea. It literally was like being there.

The Samsung wins hands down in terms of picture clarity, overall brightness, and contrast. The 80,000:1 contrast on this TV really shines. The Samsung to Sony comparison was a bit tighter as both units offered incredible picture quality and features but again the contrast ratio on the Samsung just made everything appear more pleasing to my eye.

This is a third gen LCD; sound is a little better with adjustments, but still the same speakers (Use Exteral Speakers), picture is much better & with the adustable backlight feature makes the picture a much deeper, richer screen to view. It has all the hookups you'll need Except it only has 1-HDMI input. The Price is Right & Shipping is Free.

First of all, the T.V. has good sound for one that is more suited for a bedroom (not a master sized); I don't believe it's best suited for either the kitchen or living room (both too big). If you are that concerned about the sound, you can just plug in some computer speakers in the headphone jack for some richer sound, samsung didn't just build that in the set to make it look pretty. And if you're looking for a more expensive solution, then there's always digital audio. It's silly to expect that you're going to get the same kind of sound from a 22' inch that you would get on a 32' inch or larger.

The 4 series is better than the 3 series, but the A series is older than the B series. They were willing to let me keep it, but after doing a little bit of research I found that the technology has leapt forward since it was made. Among other things, it had only a 3000:1 contrast ratio whereas this one has 15,000:1. These days there's little difference between the massive numbers spun out by manufacturers unless you're in a high tech calibration setting, but when you talking one that low, it's not a good thing.

I've never owned a Samsung product, and have normally purchased Sony products. However, due to price increases by Sony, I decided to consider options. My satellite installer stated that Samsung & Sony were considered to be two of the highest rated HD t.v.'s.
I have nothing but highest praise for my Samsung! Extremely sharp color,focus, and excellent surround sound!

Pros: Fast delivery, set up was easy, crispy and beautiful picture. Hooked it to a bose sound system sounds great. Have had it for 4 weeks now, it is flawless.
Cons: none so far

Great TV - everything I need and more - great picture, options are easy to use. Cannot go wrong. 32" is a little small - 37" or 40" would be better.

Picture quality:

DVD quality:

Matte screen:
My room is very bright. Samsung's ultra-clear panel on the 650 model is as shiny & reflective as glass - like looking in a mirror. The 630's matte screen is perfect for my needs, yet I'm still getting a very clear picture with great contrast ratio. I only knew this model existed by reading customer comments at Amazon, as Samsung doesn't appear to promote this model.

Settings:
TV has lots of options for picture & sound settings. Easy to adjust, test, play around with.

Connection to Cable Box/DVR:
To be able to use my cable DVR remote with the TV, I had to call the cable company to get the volume control to work - just needed a special code.

Sound:
OK; better than expected.

Set aesthetics:
Attractive. Originally nervous about the red Touch of Color - but it is very subtle; looks more brown/burgundy. Does NOT look like the bright red stripe that is pictured in Amazon's product info.

Amazon `Enhanced Delivery':
Very good. Delivery by CEVA was on-time. Team of two guys took their shoes off at the door without being asked, unpacked the TV, mounted it on the stand, placed it on my TV console, & hooked up connections to cable.

720p vs 1080p:
I couldn't understand why a 1080p TV would make a difference with this size of TV, since I sit about nine feet away and at that distance I don't think you could tell - at least the PC input is small enough and sharp enough that I can read web pages comfortably from my couch but if it were any smaller it would be too small/detailed. I dont think I would use more than 720p detail unless I wanted to see more web page content on the screen and planned to sit about 4 feet away. The TV has exactly the same resolution asToshiba Satellite U305-S2804 13.3-inch Laptop (Intel Core 2 Duo T5450 Processor, 2 GB RAM, 160 GB Hard Drive, Vista Premium) which is what I plugged into the PC input and looks identical to that screen. Also, most Hi Def inputs to my TV aren't more than 720p anyway. I think one over the air station is 1080i.

Standard DEF Input Handling:
For 480i or standard def inputs at a non wide screen resolution, such as those from my cable box, it handles it extremely well. However, I have a digital cable box (verizon QIP6416-2) with an HMDI, component, svideo, and RCA even though the signal I get is only standard def. I didn't want to use up an HDMI port on the TV so I tried connecting the component but the color didn't work. This is an issue with the cable box, not the TV. I had to use the HDMI in the end since there was no s-video (a small negative for this TV) and didnt want to use the RCA. On the plus side, this TV has a great setting called wide fit/move that slightly streaches and zooms a 4/3 picture to fit the 16/9 widescreen. The move comes into play if you have channel that has scrolling text that becomes cut off at the bottom, so you can nudge the picture up a bit (which chops off the top more but you need to make a comprimose somewhere).

Shines with HD inputs:
When I hooked the component connections up to an HD upscaling DVD player Samsung DVD-HD860 Up-Converting DVD Playerthough that worked perfectly with the component connection. My beloved Roku Roku Digital Video Player box is using the 2nd HDMI connector which looks great, and the over the air antenna CLEARSTREAM2 Antenna brings in over the air free HD on about 20 HD channels. All the HD sources (laptop, antenna, roku, upscaling DVD) really shine. Sound is good and I don't feel I need to get add on home theater sound since I dont turn the TV up loud. I guess an extra HDMI connection would have been nice, especially since there was no S-video, but I still give the TV 5 stars as it is a new model and is thus forward looking.

Online Support and Configuring the Cable Box:

Initially, the cable box was sending 720x480i to the TV. Fortunately I was able to find forums online with posts from a Samsung HD Tech and a cable co. employee that outlined the solution -- turn off the cable box, hit the menu button (cable remote) and here you can select the higher (or different) resolution.

Additionally, the cable box required two power cycles for this (resolution) change to take effect but when it did I was viewing cable tv in 1920x1080i.

Using Samsung's P.Size (Picture) Button:

When watching cable programming broadcast in HD, the 16:9 (aspect ratio) mode looks the best to me. For standard definition programming the Wide-Fit mode stretches the image a bit to fill the screen.

Learning how to use its features and to set it up is another matter and that is the one gripe I have with the TV. Samsung only provides a four page manual which tells the owner nothing. Instead it includes a flash drive which contains a manual for its use but it took me over three weeks to realize what the flash drive was for. The manual does not show the available ports or how things are to be connected to the TV. I finally figured it out by trial and error and got the flash drive connected. Finding out how to use it however, was again a lot of trial and error. Once I was able to read the pages, it was hard to read, mostly grey on black (I hate black-you can't see where anything is on black). Figuring how to page the manual on the TV isn't easy. Samsung provides numerous steps to take but the user has to leave the Manual screen to go through the steps and unless the user writes out all the steps, it is a tiresome process to follow the steps.

This tv is spectacular! Absolutely stunning,jaw dropping picture. I can't say enough about it. Excellent blacks,infinitely tweakable to your liking.
When I first turned it on I had the "The Office" come on and I swear my mouth stayed open for a few minutes as it looked like Michael was in the same room as me! Lots of inputs and features to this set,internet connectivity,DLNA,home networking,wonderful subdued TOC which is grey instead of the red on last years 750. Very high gloss bezel,crystal neck stand which pivots. Screen is glossy,reflections are not an issue for me as I tend to watch in a darker room,but even with the drapes open, I don't see myself! AMP seems to work better in this set,as I also have an 4071 Samsung which has a slight problem with AMP,which has been well documented over at the AVSForums.

First, if you're reading this, you're either already an LCD owner or have read about them - and have read about this new breed and if you're like I was, you're wondering what's what.

Color swirls - you never read about this, but if you've watched TV on an LCD set in the past, especially with standard def (SD) stations, you've seen it. The backgrounds look like compressed colors from jpg photo files. My earlier LCD HDTV (8ms response time) had it - this one simply does not. (I did have trouble watching compression artifacts in a movie from 1930 on TCM on this TV - but that movie was so hosed, I can't blame the TV only.)

Contrast - you've read by now that all LCD set makers lie about this. If you're confused and remember the old audio days, that works like this: You'd have a 35 watt RMS/channel amp (into 8 ohms). Some would lie and call it a 70 watt amp. Then lie some more and call it a 140 watt amp (how about 4 ohm speakers?). Then lie some more and refer to peak instead of RMS - and suddenly a 35 watt amp is legally lied about as a 200 watt amp. Now - I don't know the ins and outs of legal contrast lying, but I believe what I've read - it exists in this industry. This set is rated at a contrast of 150,000:1 - with every stretch of legal lying possible - the contrast on this set is amazing. I still cannot believe that it's an LCD. It's simply that good in terms of contrast. One plasma-owning friend insisted for a half hour that I was wrong, and had gotten a top line plasma.

Blur/response/lag - LCDs are noted for this weakness. Not this TV. Read on.

Quality of SD programs - some controversy exists. Not a problem on this TV. Read on.

240 Hz AMP - this is the most misunderstood feature I've read about on this TV. Nothing I've read in any review prepared me for what to expect. I was buying the TV partially for this feature, noting that depending upon whom you believe, you turn this feature on, off, on for movies but not sports, on for sports but not movies.

I purchased the Samsung LN22A450 after considering many other models in the Samsung lineup (the 19" version of this set as well as the 6 series version). I found that the 19" was still a bit too small for my liking, and the 6 series did not have enough improvements over this model to warrant the $90 increase in cost (the LN22A650 was on sale at a local store for $550). I ended up buying this television for $460 from amazon, and I am very happy with my decision. The tv is a perfect size for my small bedroom, and the picture quality is superior to many other brands that I have seen.

Pros:
-Built in digital tuner can be used to receive FREE HD channels via OTA broadcasts when connected to an antenna (almost all hdtv's have this, but it's an important feature to note if you don't want to pay for cable)
-PC input (VGA) can be used to connect a laptop for viewing streaming or downloaded internet content
-Picture quality (free HD channels are amazing, and upconverted DVDs are also great)
-Aesthetics of the tv set itself (it looks pretty slick when paired up with a matching upconverting dvd player, the Samsung DVD-F1080 1080p Upconverting Compact DVD Player)

Samsung has the best LCD panels out there. The image on this one is extremely good, though in my opinion I wouldn't say excellent. At times it seems to blur momentarily. Colors are well represented. The features of the TV are nice, not much more than you'd find with older CRT though. This unit is very light weight and easily mounted to a wall. It doesn't get hot when on, which is nice. The remote is weird in its layout of the buttons.

Cons:
-Only 1 HDMI input
-VGA instead of DVI input for PC
-SRS "surround sound" is disappointing; I just keep it turned off and turn up the volume

Pros:

* Increadible Dynamic Contrast. I feel like other people are in the room with me. Even up close to a few inches away the images is crisp, clear, and lifelike.

* Light weight at only about 65 lbs or so, about 1/3 that of an old 32" TV.

* VGA computer input, 4 HDMI, Audio out, and a couple other type inputs.

*240Hz demo feature lets you display 240Hz on one side and 60Hz regular on the other. There's also multiple modes of 240Hz you can select. Great feature to play with while watching the latest Bond movies.

*2ms response time (sounds good to me)

Samsung also provides software which allows you to use your PC as a server. Then you can display your pics, music, etc on the TV. Took a little playing around but was easy compared to some of the others I've tried to use.

I've played games with both my PS3 and the XBOX360. No problems. No pixelating. Did not bother to change TV over to game mode. I haven't fooled around with the 240Hz function. I just leave it on standard.

The colors are beautiful especially on the HG channels.
Someone said the colors on their set weren't very vibrant. I had the same experience at first, until I went into the settings and saw I could change it to vivid color. I clicked on that and all of the sudden my colors were amazing.
Great TV.

You can also tailor the way your set handles the AMP or Auto Motion Plus 240Hz, from ultra smooth while watching sports with 0 motion blurr to a more realistic film like smoothness. This is the first LCD HDTV that I have seen to actually have whiter whites and blacker blacks, until now only plasmas were capable of dark jet blacks and whiter whites!

This Samsung LCD HDTV is more like a computer, instead of a paper manual it comes with a USB 2.0 flash drive (E-Manual) where you just plug it in and you can just scan the manual on your beautiful 46" inch screen. You can also update the firmware version at anytime in the future for added features, bug fixes and maybe even hardware compatibility issues.

Pros:
Crisp, clear, and smooth images. Bright colors and deep blacks. Light weight, low power consumption, low heat generation. PC and internet connectivity.

Cons:
Remote is not universal. Judder reduction can cause motion artifacts.

I knew I wanted a Samsung because their sets were clearer and brighter than the other brands. I even met a Sony employee that bought a Samsung so apparently he thinks so, too. I chose the B750 model because of the true 240 Hz, 2 ms response, limited internet, and ultra clear display. This model has some grey on the black frame which is less distracting than the red-trim on the other models. It also has a nice remote (BN59-00851A) as opposed to the wheel-lagging remote found on the other models.

The set is extremely light. I was able to pickup and setup the TV myself. The shipping box is not tamper-proof though, so anyone can open the tabs and replace the TV with bricks. The glass rectangular-base swivel stand is very stable as opposed to the oval-base stand found on the other models. I was at the epicenter of a 4.7 earth quake 1 week after buying the set. It happened while I was watching TV, which barely even wobbled. Everything worked out of the box with no quality control issues. This model even included a 500Mb thumb drive for the e-manual. You can upload music, pics and vids to the TV's built-in 2Gb memory.

Blu-rays and video games are really crisp. You'll have to adjust the display settings, but once adjusted the whites are extremely bright and the blacks are really dark. The 150,000:1 contrast ratio allows me to see images in dark scenes I couldn't see on the DLP set I used to have. I've read from other reviews about flash-lighting or pixilation. I believe these artifacts are broadcasted from the source station (i.e. the CBS symbol looks funny b/c CBS uses lossy-compression or low-rez graphics). None of these artifacts show up with games or Blu-rays.

Review Sony Bravia L-Series KDL-26L5000

If you buy a TV based upon its picture quality compared to others in the group, then this is the set for you. Picture quality is outstanding! It's a little pricier than many, but then, you get what you pay for. It's a great smaller sized LCD for the bedroom or office. We really love it, the only thing is that the picture doesn't look great out of the box and because its a newer model, there wasn't much info on the tweaking websites to help calibrate it.

The Good:

- Number of HDMI connections

With the switch to digital our local channels are providing a hodgepodge of different picture formats. Bringing pictures back to where they are not all stretched out takes quite a bit of clicking and onscreen menu work with the Samsung, whereas the Sony has a dedicated button right on the remote that quickly does the job.

Review HDTV Samsung PN50B560

HDMI connections it displays everything we feed it much better than I even imagined. I assumed standard-definition content would look grainy but this TV, in combination with a great Panasonic blu-ray player (the DMP-BD60) or even our old Samsung progressive-scan DVD player, somehow shows literally everything in its native mode, or at 720p (PS3 games and 720p TV content). Picture quality is on par with panasonics in this price range. but if you have the money, go for the panasonic. slightly better picture quality. panasonics also have their break-in period built in. so you don't have to worry about it.

If you are comparing Samsungs, the B560 has the Crystal Full HD Engine with Cinema Smooth, while the B550 does not. The B650 also has Crystal Full HD Engine with Cinema Smooth, but an with an added feature, an ethernet port for using widgets, like weather, sports, stocks, etc...

We had bought the TV as an upgrade from our 720P 32 inch LCD, and the upgrade has put me at a loss for words. The picture, clarity, and black levels from this set is the best I have seen after shopping around.

Review LG 55LH40 55-Inch 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV

I was going to wait until Christmas and get the best price on a large 52+ inch LCD or plasma but saw this model on sale at Worst Buy for just under @1500. Checked Amazon and they had it for $1418.19 and thought with free shipping and no sales tax, I was getting it for a super bargain. The picture quality is really great. I was watching a few of our favorite shows on the first night we had it, and I noticed how much more detail I could notice with this TV. My old LCD was a Sharp 46 inch and while the picture was fantastic too, the detail level that this 55 inch provides is so much better. I am very happy with this purchase. The low price and free shipping made this deal a super value! The only negative I can point to is the sound quality of the internal speakers and the sync problem.

We're happy with the LG 55", sound and picture quality are excellent, tho it now has an add-on sound bar and sub-woofer. The TV arrived on time, the guys carried it all the way to the room where it was to be installed; even concerned about the box getting the carpet diry in that room and asked for a blanket or towel. The delivery men removed it from the box and were willing and ready to hook it up for me, a service from them we didn't need.

Review Panasonic VIERA G10 Series TC-P50G10 50-Inch 1080p Plasma HDTV

Great TV with lots of extra features (Viera Link) in less than $1450. Bluray movies (1080p) look stunning. Little disappointment with standard definition TV (compare to my other plasma - Pioneer). Plug and play for internet connection. Easy to use Picasa web, youTube, Weather, Amazon On Demand etc. Overall great tv for the price.

The NBA playoffs, baseball, hockey, hey I even watched auto racing...Just unreal. I had no idea what I was missing until this tv arrived. I strongly considered the new LED LCD SAMSUNG'S. The 1.2" depth and picture are very good, but it came down to a few simple things.

Setting up the TV, however, was easy with a 2nd person. It was very easy. The TV stand is great, and makes the TV very sturdy. Once turned on the TV had a funny hue to it, just like the reviews had said. It has that greenish hue like it was 'sick' or something. We changed all the settings as recommended by CNET and tried the THX as suggested by some reviewers. The picture was rather dim on THX, and the pictures on the settings recommended by CNET was pretty good.

The THX picture settings are a bit dark, but be assured the picture is still great. I've opted to set my unit to the custom settings as published on CNET. I find the picture to be a little brighter and still just as good as THX to the untrained eye.

Review Sony BRAVIA Z Series KDL-52Z5100 52-Inch 1080p 240Hz LCD HDTV

I have no complaints about the 1080p performance of this TV. It is top notch. Even over the air HD looks fantastic. I have actually 'cut the cable' and am only getting OTA content, IPTV such as PlayOn and TVersity Pro, Blu-Ray and HD DVD. Of course, SD looks awful but this is no fault of the TV.

I really like the Cinemotion and Motionflow technology. I really don't see much of a difference between this set's 240 hz frame rate and TVs that incorporate 120 hz. I'm sure the same thing will be true about LG's new 480 hz displays.

I've had this TV for about 3 weeks and I am happy with my purchase. The quality is awesome, but admittedly I'm not a tech-freak so I don't have gobs of HDTV experience to compare it to.

I got this model after some serious research on SonyStyle and reading some reviews here on Amazon. It is indeed true that this model is almost EXACTLY the same as the higher-priced XBR9. In fact I was looking at the XBR9 until I found out about this model.

PICTURE QUALITY: The HD picture is amazing. I had a 2004 42' Sony WEGA that produced 1080i, but the Bravia is a much, much better HD picture (however, it seems Comcast broadcasts in 1080i, not 1080p).

The in TV speakers are fine, not tinny, although I elected to disable them and run the sound through my receiver for surround sound.

As usual, the HD channels look spectacular and the interface is tremendously better than that of the Vizio's. It is hooked up to a HD DVR cable box, but configuration was a breeze. The non-HD channels definitely take a huge hit, as they look pretty bad on this size screen.

I bought this with a PS3 (because it's a blu-ray player) and haven't looked back. It was super easy to set up with HDMI and optical audio cables and I am constantly blown away by the picture.
